It has been our tradition to acknowledge one volunteer who has gone well beyond what may be expected in order to serve the Lord and make a difference in our communities. On April 13, 2019 the 2019 Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Coreen St. Jean. Having experienced difficulties herself, Coreen understood that many who need help with food also need the dignity that comes from the ability to choose and purchase their own food. So, she spearheaded a supplemental food program designed to be a hand up and not a hand out. Dedicating countless hours of her own time, she started a program which now counts 38 core volunteers and more than 100 occasional volunteers to serve each week.

On Thursday, May 2, we will be observing the National Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is “Love One Another,” based on John 13:34. Please, gather at the flagpole next to the Police station in West Warwick at 12:15 pm. The event will last 30 to 45 minutes. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will take place at Riverpoint Advent Christian Church located nearby on the corner of Main Street and Gough Avenue in West Warwick.

Thank you for participating in our annual fundraising event on April 13, 2019. The event was quite a success and it included an all you can eat spaghetti dinner, entertainment and raffles!

WOMEN RETREAT (February 8-10, 2019)
Theme: Blessed Beyond Measure
Held at Camp Canonicus in Exeter, Rhode Island, this was an inspiring weekend, spent discovering the riches of our Father’s blessings. It offered a good balance of inspiring speakers, prayer, relaxation and fellowship time. “In worship of God together sharing His word with one another, praying for others in mutual communion.”

We are caroling again! Join us after services as we bring the joy of Christ-centered carols to the community. This year we will gift wrap and carry a number of copies of the New Testament to give as gifts to anyone interested. We will gather at the church after services, at approximately 12:30 pm (after having had a chance to eat something). After caroling we will have warm refreshments at the church. So, bring warm clothes and lots of cheer!

2018 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD (October 28, 2018)
For a few years, now, Grace Family Church of RI, a congregation of Grace Communion International, has sponsored the Volunteer of the Year award. The award is presented to members of the community who have distinguished themselves in unique ways in their service to the Lord. Several members of the community are involved in this celebration, which is intended to promote and recognize continuous expressions of the love of God in serving the body of Christ and the community. We are pleased to announce that the 2018 Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Suzanne D. Cozzi during church services on October 28, 2018. A number of guests from the community joined us for the occasion and gave her a long standing ovation. Sue had to stop her gainful employment because of her cancer, but she never stopped helping and serving the church even during that trying period. Now cancer free, she dedicates 30 or more hours per week to serve the church and the counseling center. When asked if she is planning to return to her job, she replies that she is greatly needed by the church and the counseling center. Her example and service to the Lord has touched many lives, indeed. Yet, she has never asked for or expected any acknowledgment or praise. The privilege of serving the Lord is a sufficient reward for her. Her sterling character as a woman, mother, wife and Lord’s servant shines brightly in our communities as a living testimony of God’s grace and love.

PICNIC TIME! (August 26, 2018)
Our annual picnic will once again be held in Connecticut on August 26 at 11:00 am. Please, remember that there will be no services at the church on that day. For additional details please, ask Peg Donovan. A map is available at the information table.

Grace Family Church is pleased to host Ernie and Jason Couch for a Christian concert on August 14, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Ernie and Jason Couch present gospel music in a way that connects with all musical tastes. They perform with a fun, honest and heartfelt passion. Ernie and Jason have performed and recorded albums with some of the greatest names of the gospel hall of fame, including George Beverly Shea, George Jones, Petra, Boots Randolph, Jake Hess, and James Earl Jones, to name a few. Their program is high energy and entertaining, yet deeply respectful of the God they sing about.

Come join us on Saturday May 5, 2018 for “Dancing in the Rain,” a seminar that emphasizes the fact that God is always with us. It will start at 8:30 a.m. with a scrumptious breakfast. Our main speaker will be Peg Donovan, who will share with us “the Gospel in Chairs”.  We will also have prayers, and will be watching an inspirational movie. The seminar will end at 3:00 p.m. We offer this event without charge, but we will gratefully accept donations to help offset the expenses.
